Lisa Yuskavage (b. 1962) is a multi disciplinary artist currently living and working in New York. She’s developed her own genre of the female nude: lavish, erotic, cartoonish, vulgar, angelic young women cast within fantastical landscapes or dramatically lit interiors. Yuskavage’s work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at institutions worldwide, at David Zwirner in New York (2015, 2011, 2009, and 2006); Greengrassi in London (2013, 2010, 2007, 2004, 2002, and 1999); The Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin (organized as part of the Dublin Contemporary) (2011); Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City (2006); Royal Academy of Arts, London (2002); Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva (2001); and the Institute of Contemporary Art, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (2000). Yuskavage was apart of Spaced Out: Migration to the Interior, Red Bull Arts New York, New York, NY (2014).
